However, an update later confirmed that the game would proceed as planned. Despite this, concerns remain about the stadium’s surface, especially given the heavy rain forecast. An international rugby union match between the Wallabies and South Africa is also scheduled for Saturday night, further complicating the situation.
Bureau of Meteorology Issues Severe Weather Warning
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning, predicting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across Perth and the southwest starting Friday night and continuing into Saturday. Coastal areas could see between 25mm to 50mm of rain, while inland regions may experience lighter precipitation. The bureau has also warned of potentially damaging winds, particularly along the WA south coast.

Perth residents can expect persistent rain from late Friday through Sunday morning, with conditions easing by Monday. Temperatures are forecast to climb back to 20°C on Monday, and while rain is expected throughout next week, it will be more sporadic.
