” The event promises an “intimate, candid evening filled with joy, laughter, and inspiration.”

Barrymore expressed her excitement in a video call with 9 News, marveling at the beauty of the Story Bridge visible in the background. “I’m very excited to be there,” she said. “Really, you’re in such a beautiful setting. Wow!”

Joining Barrymore on stage will be prominent Australian media personalities such as Terri Irwin, Emma Watkins, Dannii Minogue, Baker Boy, and Michael Klim. The goal, as Barrymore puts it, is to “take off the armour” and engage in real, humorous, and in-depth conversations.

“Let’s have those more real, humorous, in-depth conversations that do not have to be so heavy and serious,” she said.

Barrymore plans to delve into topics like mental health and managing overwhelming responsibilities. She questions the tendency to take on too much to appear capable and discusses the importance of knowing when to walk away from certain commitments. “We try to prove we can do so many things, or we think that it makes us seem so capable when we can do so much. Is that really going well for us?” she pondered.

During her stay, Barrymore aims to experience both local and touristy delights. With high expectations for Brisbane’s food scene, she seeks recommendations for local restaurants and joints. “I love some local joints. Those are always my favourite,” she mentioned. Barrymore, who last visited Australia in 2019, has always been impressed by the country’s vibrant food culture, noting its alignment with global foodie trends.

As the Australian film and television industry continues to thrive, particularly on the Gold Coast, Barrymore expressed interest in producing a movie in Australia. “It would be an honour and a pleasure,” she said. “There is a connection there. We speak the same language. I think there’s a beautiful symmetry there that I’ve always felt towards Australia.”

Barrymore’s visit promises to be a blend of insightful conversations, culinary adventures, and potential future collaborations in the film industry. Fans in Brisbane and beyond eagerly await the Hollywood icon’s arrival and the inspiring event that is set to unfold.
