Kate Ritchie widely known for her iconic role as Sally Fletcher on Home and Away is set to grace our screens once again in a brand new television series. The beloved actress, now a co-host on Nova 96.9FM’s breakfast show Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie, will star in the upcoming ABC reality series, The Role Of A Lifetime.

Exploring the Challenges of Parenting
The five-part program, hosted by Amanda Keller, will see Ritchie joined by comedian Nazeem Hussain as they navigate the trials and tribulations of parenting. The mother-of-one, who shares a nine-year-old daughter, Mae, with her ex-husband Stuart Webb, will tackle real-life parenting scenarios alongside Hussain.
“Beloved actress Kate Ritchie and comedian Nazeem Hussain will be brought together to act out real-life parenting scenarios, propelling them into immersive and unexpected factual explorations to guide us in raising resilient, happy children,” the official synopsis reveals. Parenting author, educator, and podcaster Maggie Dent will provide insightful guidance throughout the series.
A Personal Journey
This new role comes at a poignant time for Ritchie, following a viral moment late last year during a radio interview with Maggie Dent. In the emotional clip, Ritchie broke down in tears as Dent discussed the differences in the mental load carried by mums and dads, resonating deeply with Ritchie and audiences worldwide.

Kate Ritchie A Return to Television
The Role of A Lifetime marks Ritchie’s first television appearance since her role in the Channel Seven miniseries, The Claremont Murders. She has also starred in Underbelly in 2009, and the short-lived series Cops LAC and Mr & Mrs Murder. However, she remains best known for her 20-year portrayal of Sally Fletcher on Home and Away, a role she played from the show’s premiere in 1988 until 2008.
Currently in production, The Role of A Lifetime is set to air in 2025. Fans of Kate Ritchie can look forward to seeing her back on screen, offering her unique perspective on the joys and challenges of parenting.
