At a ceremony held at the NSW Police Academy in Goulburn, Inspector Scott was awarded the Commissioner’s Medal of Valour, an honor given to officers who exhibit exceptional bravery. NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb expressed her deep emotion and pride in presenting the award, noting it was her first time bestowing such a prestigious honor since taking on her role.
Inspector Scott expressed her gratitude and humility, dedicating the award to her team and the other first responders who were crucial on that fateful day. “You are only as strong as the people around you,” she said, highlighting the incredible support from her friends, family, and colleagues.

Scott also took a moment to remember the six victims of the attack—Ashlee Good, Jade Young, Dawn Singleton, Faraz Tahir, Pikria Darchia, and Yixuan Cheng—emphasizing that they remain at the forefront of her thoughts.
