Simon Bird known for playing Will McKenzie in The Inbetweeners has disappointed fans by announcing there are no plans for The Inbetweeners reunion of the iconic comedy. Despite years of hope, Bird made it clear that he and his former co-stars, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, won’t be coming back for another round of the hilarious series.
Speaking to MailOnline, Bird said
“I hate to break it to you, but it’s not happening. There’s no chance of a reunion.”
He explained that while the cast would be open to the idea, it’s up to the writers, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, to decide. Unfortunately, they’re both busy with other projects.

He added, “It’s no more likely now than it was ten years ago. The show had its moment.”
Bird, who has since starred in Friday Night Dinner, also admitted he barely remembers the lines from The Inbetweeners. He said that fans often quote lines to him, but he can’t recall them, as he hasn’t watched the series since it aired in 2008.
Bird Calls Inbetweeners Reboot “Depressing” Idea
Bird previously shared that a reboot of the show might feel “depressing” for everyone involved. He joked that no one would believe they were teenagers anymore, and seeing the cast as 30-somethings might not have the same charm.
James Buckley Shares Regrets Over 2019 Reunion Special
James Buckley, who played Jay, also expressed doubts about returning to the series. He explained that a 2019 Channel 4 reunion special, hosted by Jimmy Carr, didn’t go well. The special, which featured a quiz and a fake award ceremony, was widely criticized, leading Buckley to apologize to fans on Twitter.
