Earlier this year the NSW government introduced a weekly toll cap of $60, offering much-needed financial Toll relief program to Sydney’s most frequent toll road users. This initiative, launched in January 2024, allows drivers to save up to $4000 annually, targeting the financial strain caused by toll road privatisation.

Western Suburbs Benefit the Most

It’s no surprise that Sydney’s western suburbs, where toll roads are heavily used, are the biggest beneficiaries. Since the program’s start, drivers in areas like Blacktown, Baulkham Hills, Marsden Park, Merrylands, Castle Hill, Quakers Hill, and Kellyville have seen substantial toll relief. In Blacktown alone, 2,146 claims have been submitted, with an average rebate of $313 per claim. Baulkham Hills follows closely with 2,192 claims and an average rebate of $294.
